Web development

Web development in Lebanon that earns its hosting

We build websites in Beirut for businesses that need the site to do something: bring in enquiries, rank for the searches that matter, and load in under a second on a phone. WordPress when that fits, hand-written PHP when it does not.

What you actually get

A website is easy to sell and hard to do well. The difference usually shows up six months later, when the site is slow, the client cannot edit it without breaking something, and nobody can explain why it does not appear in Google. Here is what is in every build we ship, without being itemised as an extra later.

A design made for your business

Not a marketplace theme with your logo dropped in. We design around your actual services, your photographs and the way your customers decide, then build it as clean HTML and CSS that will still be maintainable in three years.

Performance as a build standard

Self-hosted fonts, WebP images with explicit dimensions, hand-written critical CSS, deferred scripts, and a caching layer configured properly. We test on mid-range Android over mobile data, because that is what your customers are holding.

Technical SEO from the first line

One H1 per page, a real heading structure, Schema.org markup, clean canonical URLs, an XML sitemap and a robots file that does not accidentally block half the site. Retrofitting this later costs more than doing it now.

Arabic and English done right

Genuine right-to-left layout, Arabic typography that keeps its letter joining, hreflang so search engines serve the correct version, and content parity between languages instead of a thin machine translation.

Analytics you can read

Google Analytics 4 and Search Console configured, goals wired to the things that matter, internal traffic filtered out, and a short written explanation of which three numbers are worth checking each month.

Everything in your name

Domain, hosting, analytics, source code. You get the logins on handover. Nothing about our arrangement depends on you being unable to leave.

WordPress or custom code, and how to tell

This is the first real decision in a web development project, and getting it wrong is expensive in both directions. Agencies that only build WordPress will tell you everything fits in WordPress. Agencies that only write code will tell you WordPress is a toy. Neither is true.

WordPress is right when

  • You will publish articles, offers or news regularly and want to do it yourself
  • The site is mostly pages, services, a blog and a contact form
  • Several people need to edit content without touching code
  • You want a large ecosystem for bookings, forms or multilingual content

We build WordPress the disciplined way: a light theme, custom functionality in small dedicated plugins rather than a 60-plugin pile, and no page builder rendering forty div layers for a paragraph of text.

Custom PHP is right when

  • The site is really an application: accounts, bookings, inventory, calculations
  • You need business logic no plugin models correctly
  • Performance and security matter more than drag-and-drop editing
  • You want no third-party plugin able to break your site on an update

We write plain PHP 8 and MySQL with no framework bloat, which runs comfortably on ordinary Lebanese shared hosting and does not need a $200 a month server to stay responsive.

If you are not sure which side your project falls on, that is a normal place to be and it is a ten-minute conversation, not a paid discovery phase. Describe what you need and we will tell you which one it is and why.

The stack we reach for

Boring, proven technology that any competent developer after us can pick up. We are not going to hand you a site built on something fashionable that nobody in Lebanon will maintain in two years.

  • WordPress
  • PHP 8
  • MySQL
  • Vanilla JavaScript
  • Schema.org JSON-LD
  • LiteSpeed cache
  • WebP & AVIF
  • Hand-written CSS
  • Git
  • Google Analytics 4
  • Search Console

Who we build for

Most of our web development work in Lebanon falls into a few groups: clinics and medical practices that live on appointment enquiries, retailers and showrooms that need a catalog people can actually find, professional firms that need to look credible to someone comparing three options, and founders who need a first product on the internet without burning the whole budget on it.

What those have in common is that the website is a working part of the business rather than a brochure. If yours is the same, we are a good fit. If you need a five-page placeholder as cheaply as possible, we will say so and point you somewhere sensible.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost in Lebanon?

In the Lebanese market a template site from a freelancer runs roughly $500 to $1,500, a small agency build $2,000 to $5,000, and a custom platform $8,000 upwards. Our own brochure sites start at $1,200, business sites with SEO run $3,000 to $7,000, and custom web applications start around $8,000. The full breakdown is on our pricing page.

Do you build in WordPress or write code from scratch?

Both, and the choice is made on your needs rather than our preference. WordPress is right when you will be publishing regularly and want to edit pages yourself. Custom PHP is right when the site is really an application: bookings, inventory, accounts, calculations. We will tell you which one your project is, and we have talked people out of the expensive option more than once.

Can you build the site in Arabic and English?

Yes, and properly. That means real right-to-left layout rather than a mirrored stylesheet, Arabic typography that does not break letter joining, hreflang tags so Google serves the right language, and full content parity so the Arabic side is not a thin translation of the English one. We also work in French.

Will my website be fast on a phone in Lebanon?

That is the benchmark we build against. Every site is tested on a mid-range Android device on mobile data, not on a laptop with fibre. We self-host fonts, compress and convert images to WebP, write critical CSS by hand and defer everything non-essential. Our target is a PageSpeed score in the nineties on mobile, and we treat anything less as unfinished.

Do I own the website when it is finished?

Completely. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting account is yours, and the code is yours. There is no proprietary builder holding your site hostage and no monthly fee required just to keep it online. If you ever want to move to another developer, you take everything with you.

Can you fix or take over a site somebody else built?

Yes, and it is a good part of what we do. We start with an audit that tells you what is actually wrong, what it costs to fix, and whether repairing is cheaper than rebuilding. You get that answer in writing before you commit to either.
